Why the timing matters
Across the 32 fully-closed trades where we tracked both outcomes, holding the position through ex-dividend day instead of exiting on our alert would have returned -22.68% in total — following the sell timing did +30.05% better on those same trades. Held-through is price-only and excludes the dividend itself. Trades missing either number are excluded rather than guessed.
